Objectives |

Activating, encouraging and publishing scientific research
in order to contribute the socio-economic development activities in Oman.

Cooperating with the government and private agencies
concerned with economic development, provision of experts and stating
opinions in economic matters if asked.

Conducting conferences, lectures, visits and exchange of
information with the other professional associations and institutions.

Strengthening the relations and enhancing the scientific and
technical cooperation between economists in the Sultanate
and
their colleagues in the Arab countries and the rest of the world.

Contributing in organizing the basis of the economic
consultancy profession and raising its standard in cooperation with the
other concerned authorities.

Representing the professional interests of its members.
-
Urging members to maintain the ethics of the profession and
raising its standards.

Management of the
Association |
A board of directors elected by a
general assembly manages the Association. The board is to be composed of 7
members. It’s duration shall be two years. A member whose membership
expires may be re-elected. |

Membership |
Membership
is open to anyone with the following conditions:

Shall be a holder of a university degree in
economics as a minimum, or specializing in a related field or a student
studying in the field of the Association.

To be at least 18 years of age and not be
convicted of a felony, misdemeanor or crime violating or contrary to honour
or honesty unless being redeemed or rehabilitated.

To be of good conduct.

To undertake, in writing to respect the
regulations of the Association

To have the desire to work in the service of
the Association and the realization of its objectives.

Types of Memberships |
Full member: Enjoyed
by every member satisfying the conditions of membership.
|
|
Honourary
Membership:
Granted
to the those who provide substantial material, immaterial or moral services
or who contribute greatly in promoting the association’s activities.
Honourary membership is offered by a decision by the Board of Directors. The
Honourary member has the right to attend the sessions of the association and
it’s committees and to participate in their discussions without having the
right to vote in issuing decisions or during elections.

Student Membership :
Offered to students studying in the fields of the Association. |

Fees |
Full Member:Fees for Full members
are: R.O 20 annually in addition to the joining fees of R.O 100 to be paid
only once at joining. New graduates not holding students memberships are
offered a discount of 50% of the joining fees
|

Honourary members do not pay membership fees. |
|
|
Student Members Fees for students are R.O 10 annually. They are exempted from the
joining fees. |
|
General Assembly |
The general assembly is composed of all the
active members who pay the membership fees. It holds its meetings with
absolute majority. |

Resources |
The financial resources of the Association is composed of the
following: |

Membership Fees

Donations, Grants bequests or orders subject
to the approval of the Minister.

Revenue from the Association’s activities.

Government subsidies.
-
Profits and returns resulting from the
investment of the association finances within the limits of the applicable
laws.

Consultancy Offices Registration Fees.

Other different revenues approved by the
Ministry.
