Conference on the New Economy

Conference objectives
• To give prominence to the crucial role of the private sector in economic development.
• To make awareness of the concept of the new economy which is based on knowledge and to identify the new opportunities.
• To diagnose challenges which impede the development of private sector activity.
• To benefit from experiences of other countries and international organizations in developing the private sector

Provisional Conference Programme
The first session: The Economic frame for an efficient performance of the public and private sectors.
The second session: The role of a knowledge based economy in reinforcing competition and raising efficiency.
The third session: Personal initiatives and the role of small and medium enterprises in developing economic activity.
The fourth session: The role of financing in developing the private sector.
The fifth session: Globalization: opportunities and challenges before the private sector.
The sixth session: The contribution of the legislative and organizational environment and the role of Privatization in the development of private sector activity.


Participants:
• Chief administrative staff at ministries and government institutions.
• Chief administrative staff from the private sector.
• Teaching staff at universities, institutes and research centres.
• Experts in regional and international organizations.

Condition of the researches to be submitted:
• The deadline for submitting researches is Tuesday 21 May 2005.
• Researches will be accepted in both Arabic and English.
• All researches shall be subjected to academic judgment.


An Abstract of not more than 100 words in both Arabic and English of the Research should be attached with it.
